Luciq · Migration
AngularJS to Vue.js, without stopping releases
A case study from Bola Sydhom’s work at Luciq. A big product was still on AngularJS, and it made every new feature slow to build. The business couldn’t pause for a full rewrite. The product moved to Vue.js and releases kept going the whole time. It was the second big migration I’ve led, after AngularJS to Angular 11+ at Cegedim.
The problem
A big product was still on AngularJS, and it made every new feature slow to build. The business couldn’t pause for a full rewrite.
What I did
- Mapped the old system and planned a step-by-step move
- Designed a component structure that could grow, and split the code into modules
- Worked with the other teams so feature releases never stopped
- Added unit, end-to-end and visual tests to keep every release safe
The outcome
The product moved to Vue.js and releases kept going the whole time. It was the second big migration I’ve led, after AngularJS to Angular 11+ at Cegedim.
